What is a Nordic Ecolabelled hotel (Svanenmärkt)?
A NordicEcolabelled hotel (Svanenmärkt) takes responsibility and meets the Nordic Ecolabelling's strict environmental requirements. The hotel must meet certain limits in energy, water, chemicals, and waste consumption/management. Everything from purchasing to the own supply is scrutinized for its environmental impact.
With our work, we want to show that it is important for us to work for improvements constantly and actively, and thus be able to participate in creating a better, cleaner environment in the future. Through our collaboration with the NordicEcolabel, we have received clear guidelines and routines which have helped us review our environmental work and develop it further.

The goal reduce environmental impact.
We reduce our energy impact by, among other things, switching to low-energy lights.
We have chosen electricity from 100% renewable energy sources.
We choose products with low energy consumption.
We are gradually switching to low-flush toilets and low-flush faucets in the bathroom sinks and showers.
When cleaning, we largely use dry cleaning methods with microfiber cloths. Where there is a need for chemical use, we use eco-labeled products.

We reduce our waste through sorting. We also provide the opportunity for our guests to sort their waste in the rooms and the conference area. For the breakfast buffet, we buy many organic-, Fair Trade, and locally produced products. For all other purchases, we try to buy eco-labeled products as much as possible and to influence our suppliers. In our annual action plan, we set other intermediate goals. We measure regularly and document limit values. We engage and inform our staff about our environmental work and what we have achieved.
